Choir Team Jabatan Perikanan Sabah

Image
This year's Hari Peladang Penternak Nelayan Sabah (HPPNS), we were given the opportunity to perform 3 songs namely Theme Song of HPPNS, 1 Malaysia and Janji Ditepati. It seems just like yesterday when I was on duty as one of the AJK for the VVIP group in last year's HPPNS. During the opening ceremony, choir team from MAFI performed and Pn. Anita asked me to join the choir team next year as one of the representative from our department. I said perhaps I could try but I did not really hope that it can happen. Long story short, this year, our own Director proposed to our MAFI Minister to let Jabatan Perikanan Sabah to perform choir in this year's HPPNS. At first, when they told me the news, I was extremely happy but then I thought that it will be impossible to perform as most of my choir members are busy doing preparation for HPPNS. However, based on my 5 years of experience for involving in the school choir and a Grade 5 in organ lesson, I managed ...

Definitely A Cracking Good Crab

Let's learn about Horse-shoe Crab or Belangkas today! :) ------------------------------------- Publication: NST Date of publication: Mar 16, 2009 Byline / Author: By Evangeline Majawat Definitely A Cracking Good Crab MYSTERIOUS and unappreciated, horseshoe crabs are slowly revealing their secrets to a team of local scientists. EVANGELINE MAJAWAT discovers that their findings could just be the `eureka' moment the nation has been holding her breath for. With its primitive armour-like shell and spiny tail, this misunderstood marine creature strikes fear in the hearts of many. But one of nature's gentlest creatures, the horseshoe crab could just be the nation's key to breakthrough research into an exclusive multi-million biomedical industry currently dominated by one country. For the past few years, horseshoe crabs or "belangkas" have been the subject of intense but low-profile research at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). ...

What to blog about?

I am officially jobless! And I am so happy. Why should you be happy for being jobless? It's because in 7 days time, I will have a new job! That is why I am happy. Hahaha. *sarcastic* I want to take this opportunity to thank my ex-colleagues and ex-bosses for giving me the chance to serve your humble company for 9 months. It has been a wonderful 9 months working under your company. You guys have taught me a lot. Working as an Admin/ Operation Assistant is not bad at all. You really start from zero. I am not ashamed to admit that I've worked as an Admin even I am over-qualified for that job. Degree holder in Fisheries? Admin for a construction company? So what. At least I have a job. At least I'm not the one wasting time and energy waiting for THE perfect job. Fellow newly graduates, please don't expect too much when you're out there looking for a perfect first job. If you've found one in such a short time, you're lucky and I hereby congratulate you. I tell ...

I am not a girl, not yet a woman

No. This post is not about one of Britney's song. I do admit that I stole her song title though :p Where do we start? Hm. In my last post, I told you that I am pursuing my Master's under Dr. Annita in UMS kan. Read this post . Well, I decided to postponed that dream due to several personal matters. Wah. Macam mahu apply cuti pula. 'Personal matter' konon. Long story short, I went to search for jobs and I was so stressed out due to the finding-the-right-job-for-me-is-so-hard problem :) Read this post . I was waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting........................ then, FINALLY!! Ta-da~~ I have found one!! Been working here for 5 weeks now. Yay! I am so proud of myself. The pay is good too. Thank you God for listening to my prayers. Boring bah di rumah. Hee. Oh ya. Silly me. Forgot to tell you what and where I am working now. Hihi. I am working in a construction company as an engineer. NOT! How come an aquaculturist can suddenly become engineer oh....

My 1st flat tyre experience

Pajero magically flattened it's tyre yesterday near Sembulan on my way back home after work. What did I do? Who was the 1st person I called? Seseorang yang mengambil berat tentang I la ok :) That person helped me with Pajero and sent me home *clap hands* Thank you very much *wink* P/S: Actually I can change the tyre myself but I bet sampai mlm pun x terbuka 1 nat pun di tayar tu

I need a job.

Currently, I am unemployed for 2 weeks now. Been searching and searching for a job but failed. I have tried walk-in interview, e-mailing resumes, newspaper ads and calling them for an interview. 'We require a person who can do accounting and know how to type in Chinese' 'We will call you for a second interview' 'We will contact you back' 'It is impossible for us to pay that amount for an inexperienced person' 'Why didn't you go for what you expert in (Fisheries)' -------------- There are a lot of jobs but only one will be the job I wanted. I REALLY NEED A JOB. IT'S BEEN KILLING ME TO STAY AT HOME DOING NOTHING. No company wants to hire a fresh graduate and paying them more than RM1K *sigh* Hello. I am a fresh graduate from UMS and I am looking for a permanent job. I specialized in fisheries industry. Thank you. However, I want to do admin/ clerical work so badly (to gain experience) but nobody wants to hire an ...

My First Day

Image
Today was my first day working as a research assistant in UMS. As usual, on the first day you will be greeted with 'Wah. Orang baru' , 'Welcome to the club my friend' and etc. No exception for me as well. I was even asked to introduce/ greet everyone officially during the meeting but luckily our boss understood me well. Everybody knows who I am already bah so no need for introduction okay.  At Esther's table for the day. I will be taking care of our experimental fish in UMS hatchery for about 3 to 4 months. Then, if our experiment already started, we will move to IPMB. So, here I come :) Have to arrive there by 7.30 in the morning for the morning class and morning meeting. After the meeting, then I will start to do my work. Tank cleaning, change water, feeding and etc.. Hmm. Teringat dulu zaman under-graduate. But this time no Macy and Intan. *sigh* There will be only me and me alone. Ah Yau will only be back here on 13 September. Both of us will pursue our Mast...

Ever heard of MyLook?

http://mylook.com/join.php?x=114960 They say that this MyLook thingy is a search engine like Yahoo and Google. The difference is you are paid for searching through them. They will pay you with US Dollars lagi tu. I have just registered recently and let's see what happened after this. You just register by entering your email address and a password. Then, voila! You are done and all set up for using them to search for information. Ngee~~ I don't usually believe this kind of stuff but I think it's worth a try.

Viva Thingy.

Busy. Busy. Busy. However, update I must. I have finally presented my FYP yesterday. Phew. What a relief man~~ I tell you. It feels goodie goodie goooood. It was quite ok. Dr. Rossita told me that 'It was a good presentation. Your voice bla bla. However I still have a few questions' *Gulp* haha. The other lecturers also asked me questions. Good questions which makes your brain make a fool of yourself. I did answer all of it but I am not pretty sure if all of my answers were good enough to give me a few extra points. Huhu. Never mind. Praise the Lord. Amen! There were 10 of us who were supervised by Prof. Senoo and we were the ones who presented twice in a month during Seminar Class in the hatchery. Yes. Every week :) It was tiring but that is the good part. Tired + Fun. Hehe. Lots and lots of practice and suggestions and comments from the PhD Seniors, R.As and from Prof. Senoo himself. We were so lucky to have them to guide us during this 1 whole year. Thank you very much ...

Study Trip to DoF, Likas

If y'all r wondering what's DoF, it's Department of Fisheries ya. Keep that in your itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polkadot bikini. I mean your brain. Gagaga. On 24 February 2010, 32 final year aquaculture students had the opportunity to have a study trip to Likas. Wow. Copy paste from Study Trip's Report ka ni? Adalah sikiiiiiiiiit :) Miahaha We were taught on how to make fishball and 'keropok lekor'. Quite interesting huh? Yup. Study trip. Dekat saja . Not far. Hurm. So lazy to elaborate, the pictures might give some help here. This is the place where we visited  Intan, Susie and me (in the meeting room :P) Macy (the 'keropok lekor' pro) The magic machine which turns the dough into fishball. Tada! *the dough is made of surimi, sugar, ajinomoto and wheat/ tapioca flour.. Mm. I guess that's all. Ciao. - xoxo -

Infinity Downline

Image
Recently, I have joined this thing called Infinity Downline. Usually, I don't believe these kinds of stuff because I always assumed it as a scam. However, the thing that changed my mind is the person who introduce me about Infinity Downline is a really close friend of mine. She told me everything about it. I was not so sure at first but like most people say, sometimes we must take risk. In addition, it also involved only a little amount of money compared to other program like the Skor A (which requires you to pay RM800 just for registration and so on) or the Southern Bakery (I think more than RM150++ is required? Not so sure). For Infinity Downline, registration is free and you only need to spend RM100 per month to activate the membership and don't worry, you'll gain back more than that when you invite more of your friends to join this program. Now, can you see the picture? It's a win-win situation. Ok ok.I will not elaborate more on this here though. Afraid that you...

Elow everyone. It's been a tiring week for me . Saya tau la hari ni baru hari Khamis. Gg :) but I feel so damn tired and it's too long for me. Oh no. Please help me. Hm. My tiring week started from last Saturday, attented seminar class, as usual . Then, Sunday, again seminar class, as usual . Monday, progress presentation in IPMB. Hm? Progress presentation? Yup. Tsk. Tuesday, progress presentation which included me. Weeew. I was the 3rd presenter and guess what? I think I was OK. OK enough because after I've finished presenting, all the lecturers were (hmm, how should I describe this), struggling to think of a question to ask me. I was expecting some killer questions ( bukan lagi tembak pakai pistol biasa tapi machine gun punya soalan ) or opinions such as you-better-follow-my-suggestions-so-shut-up-your-mouth with a do-not-act-like-you-are-clever-than-me face but surprisingly, only my supervisor held up his hand (because the MC asked him to do so) and told me that I have ...
